Dear Friend,

November has arrived, and before we’ve even put away the Halloween decorations, the invitations, shopping lists, and holiday expectations begin finding their way onto our calendars.

I love having things to look forward to. But I also know how easy it is to become the woman who makes everything special for everyone else—and forget to ask what would feel good to her.

Maybe you know that feeling, too.

You’re organizing the gathering. Checking on everyone. Remembering the little details. Saying, “Of course, I can help,” before you’ve checked whether you have the time or energy.

This month, I want to practice something different: making room for myself while still showing up for the people I love.

That might mean accepting help without apologizing. Letting something be simple. Taking a quiet walk before tackling the list. Or saying yes to an evening that gives me something to look forward to.

We can be grateful for our lives and still want something to change.

We can love our families and still need time that belongs to us.

We can enjoy giving and learn to receive.

That’s part of the heart behind Rip the Labels™: a place to hear yourself again, beneath the roles and expectations that can fill a day.

Before November gets busy, take a moment to ask:

What do I want this season to feel like—and what is one choice I can make to support that?

Your answer deserves a place on the calendar.

A Moment to Reflect

Where am I saying yes out of habit—and what would I choose if I paused long enough to listen to myself?

Your Invitation This Week

Put one thing on your calendar just for you. Coffee with a friend. Ten minutes with your journal. An evening without plans.

Choose something you’ll actually enjoy, and give it the same consideration you give your other commitments.

A Thought to Carry With You

“You can be thankful for the life you have and still make room for the woman you are becoming.”
